On to the next...

So far, I am making good time on Feb's 'List'. I finished Feb's block for the Pieced Together Quilting Bee. Katie send out great fabrics and I improv pieced the block. I am finding that I do like improv sewing but it does take me a lot longer to put a block together this way. My month to send out fabric is March. I am not sure what I'm going to send out yet - have not narrowed down the color palette or basic style yet. Anyway, here's Katie's block:

This week I finished the curvy tablerunner. I tried some new techniques on this project (e.g., couching and I put the binding on differently than I normally do). All in all, I really like it. My husband says it's a bit Halloweeny but I don't think so. Wouldn't it be cool to weave some fabrics and then make a handbag out of it? I think so! The ideas are already brewing.

  1. Katie's block looks great, I love the colors in it! The curvy table runner does remind me a bit of Halloween, but I really like it, the orange really stands out to me!

  3. Sara,
I love your curvy table runner. The pattern of white-black (the ones like flower shape) remind me of a traditional pattern of Javanese batik here.
I'll wait for your handbag design :)
